About us

This year -2024- our project gained momentum. In addition to the atrocities of the genocide, Israel is also very consciously restricting the entire Palestinian economy. We want to use our privilege to bring the quality that Palestinian farmers, craftsmen and artists create to Belgium. We want to contribute to a world where people are aware of the origin of their products and where sustainability and ethical trade are the standard. We strive to have a positive impact on both producers and consumers through transparency and fair trade.

We want to share the rich flavors and crafts of Palestine with you through a carefully composed collection, from aromatic olive oil and herbs to handmade artisanal products. At the same time, we want to contribute to the survival and growth of local communities in Palestine. We not only want to inspire with our offering, but also be a platform to honor and celebrate the cultural diversity and crafts of Palestine.

We work directly with small-scale Palestinian family businesses and with Palestinian farmers who reach a new sales market through us. They live and work in the West Bank, a Palestinian territory that is being severely affected by the Israeli occupation. The genocide now makes it impossible to work with Palestinian producers from Gaza. The Zionist state controls all of Palestine's borders and therefore all imports and exports. This is a reality that we cannot ignore if we want to buy products from Palestinians on the ground.

These are terribly hard times for all Palestinians. It feels strange to set up a project now, but precisely because of the many positive reactions from the Palestinian community, we are continuing, albeit with mixed feelings. We hope that with Falastin we can make a small, positive contribution to the Palestinian producers on the ground. We also hope that you, together with us, will continue to fight for a free Palestine.

We are a Palestinian-Belgian family that wants to offer you pure Palestinian quality products from Ghent. This idea has been in our minds for years. Every time we went to Palestine and were able to rediscover the natural wealth there, we knew that we wanted other people to enjoy it too.
